Accountability

If elected to the board, I am responsible to the people in my local area; actively listening to their needs, concerns, and feedback, and taking actions that align with their interests. As a human being, I am aware that I may make mistakes along the way. It is also my responsibility to consistently and continually hold myself ACCOUNTABLE if/when this happens, and to take a collaborative approach in making better decisions moving forward.

Transparency

The board of education holds a huge portion of YOUR tax dollars in their hands, money that is designated to carry out one of our city’s greatest tasks. As a board member, I will do my best to ensure that we are being good stewards of that by being as TRANSPARENT as possible about all things related to OUR school district.

Innovation

​

CPS is Columbia’s sole option for public education. As such, I am committed to working alongside the district to take INNOVATIVE approaches to assist OUR students in being engaged in their education. I would love for us to build an educational system where ALL students have improved academic performance, increased motivation and interest in learning, better critical thinking skills, greater retention of information, enhanced self-confidence as learners, development of collaborative abilities, and a higher likelihood of completing their education and becoming successful citizens in whatever space they decide to go on to.
